Radiohead has announced their first run of performances in seven years.
The brief tour is currently limited to Europe and the UK, beginning with four nights in Madrid starting November 4. From there, the band follows a similar formula in other major European cities, playing a quartet of shows in each of Bologna, London, Copenhagen, and Berlin. For disappointed U.S. fans anxious to see Thom Yorke and company back in America, the band offered a glimmer of hope. A message on the Radiohead’s website noted they “hope to do more shows elsewhere in the future.”
Last month, Radiohead released a surprise live album collecting performances of Hail to Thief material. This followed a period of inactivity for the band that included rumors of a possible breakup.

“Last year, we got together to rehearse, just for the hell of it. After a seven year pause, it felt really good to play the songs again and reconnect with a musical identity that has become lodged deep inside all five of us,” Radiohead drummer Philip Selway said via statement. “It also made us want to play some shows together, so we hope you can make it to one of the upcoming dates. For now, it will just be these ones but who knows where this will all lead.”
