Yungblud and members of Aerosmith took to the VMA stage to honor Ozzy Osbourne on Sunday night, delivering a powerful and emotional to the Prince of Darkness.
The late-rocker’s son Jack, along with Ozzy’s four granddaughters, introduced the performance.
The tribute began with Yungblud singing “Crazy Train” and “Changes” with Extreme’s Nuno Bettencourt on guitar. Next, Aerosmith icons Steven Tyler and Joe Perry joined for a emotive rendition of “Mama, I’m Coming Home.” Throughout the performance, fans in the crowd could be seen dancing and singing along, clearly captivated by the poignancy of the moment.
“Ozzy forever man!” Yungblud declared as he and the other musicians embraced following the final notes. See footage of the performance below.
Osbourne died on July 22 at the age of 76, just days after his triumphant final concert with Black Sabbath. Tyler, Yungblud and Bettencourt all performed at the star-studded event, which featured many of rock’s biggest acts celebrating Ozzy’s career.

Osbourne, of course, had a long history with MTV, both via his music videos and with his popular reality TV show, The Osbournes. Aside from the tribute performance, rock was largely absent from this year’s VMAs. Rock artists were shut out of the major categories, while Coldplay beat out Green Day, Evanescence, Twenty One Pilots and Linkin Park in the Best Rock category.
