Bad Wolves’ Deluxe Edition of ‘Die About It’ Is a Commanding Listen: Album Review

Bad Wolves have dropped the deluxe edition of Die About It, featuring nine new tracks. I think I speak for all hard rock fans when I say, we’ve been waiting for this!

From the start, the somber intro calmly pulls us into their realm. But then comes “Bad Friend” the torrential down pour of sheer metal straight from the hell! So haunting and the sudden eruption of chaos and aggression in “Bad Friend” sets the tone for the rest of the album.

“Die About” is a sexy rap with an intense grinding metal merged into. This is a powerful experimental and interesting side of Bad Wolves. I am deeply addicted as I am intrigued by this band. It’s seductive, dangerous, and deeply expressive. You can feel the common theme that resonates throughout the album.

That emotional dissonance of being pulled between anger, sorrow, betrayal bleeds into the music and pulls the listener in. “Savior” can lead you into realizing we all need this, a beacon of light in the darkness of the world.

“Hungry for Life,” featuring Daughtry, barrels in like a powerful ballad. It’s Bad Wolves at their absolute best and Daniel “DL” Laskiewicz’s vocals are nothing short of stunning. That power is augmented with a guest appearance by, Daughtry delivering his own exceptional vocal performance that adds emotional depth and intensity to the track.

Of the new songs for the deluxe edition, none hit harder than “Hanging on to Thunder,” featuring Stand Atlantic. The tune preaches strength in moments of adversity over a thunderous and anthemic arrangement. “This song embodies what we do best: big hooks, raw emotion, and pure power,” drummer and founder John Boecklin explained. “It’s an undeniable Bad Wolves classic. Stand Atlantic takes it to the next level with an absolutely insane vocal performance. We’re incredibly proud of this one.”

“Legends Never Die” is smooth yet undeniably powerful. You can feel the intensity radiating from the entire band and they’re locked in, driven, and dead set on making sure we don’t just hear their presence, but feel it. Every note is a statement, every lyric a reminder that Bad Wolves are here to leave a legacy. Chills. Later, the orchestral version of “Legends Never Die” (recorded for the deluxe version) powerfully amplifies DL’s vocals, showcasing his emotional depth and range like never before.

“NDA” feels like a powerful message about silence, about the weight of being told to keep quiet. Whether it’s personal secrets, industry pressure, or emotional restraint, this track captures the tension of holding back. It’s subtle, but it hits hard. It’s a feeling we can all resonate with in some way.

“Move On” echoes a wild, unchained energy a side of Bad Wolves that delivers the escape we all crave in a world full of monotony. The shifts in the music are hypnotic and infectious, pulling you in while pushing you forward. But beyond the sound, the message cuts deep. Moving on is one of the hardest things I face daily, and I know I’m not alone. For many of us, letting go is the real challenge. This song doesn’t just acknowledge that pain but more so, it gives us the strength to face it.

Their song “Masquerade” feels intense and conveys their intention to reveal what they know about those who are hiding behind false appearances. The track carries a tone of confrontation and exposure, suggesting a deeper understanding of hidden truths.

“Home” is a complex, multi-layered track that builds steadily, reaching its emotional climax at the center. The vocals are delivered with raw intensity, perfectly supported by the full group, creating a rich and immersive soundscape. The song offers a moving glimpse into inner turmoil and the deep yearning to return “home”. This is not just a physical space, but more so a metaphorical place of peace and happiness. “Say It Again”(ft. The Rasmus) hits straight into the gut there’s no waiting for the intensity.

The album closes with live versions of “Bad Friend” and “Legends Never Die,” giving us a taste of what to expect from their live performances. It’s clear they’re a band made for the stage their sound is tight, powerful, and effortlessly flawless live.

This is an album I could listen to on repeat. It’s rich with evocative layers and intricate movements, offering an endless journey meant to be both heard and deeply felt. Perfection seems to pour from every dominant thread of their being, commanding attention with every note.
