On their weekend reunion tour, Pulp played two concerts in Sheffield, the city where they were born. They performed an unreleased song named “Hymn of the North” at the end of the set to further enhance the significance of the second night.
Singer Jarvis Cocker told the audience before the performance that “I can promise you that no one has ever heard this song except for us on this stage.” “That’s a falsehood, in actuality. It’s a song, and some variation of it was used in a play written by a man by the name of Simon Stephens. Its name is “Hymn of the North.” As a result, since we are in the North, we believed you should be the first to hear it.
Cocker went on to say that the group had “some lively discussions” about whether they should play the song live. “There’s a lot that could go wrong with it — I’m playing the piano, for a start,” he said. “But [keyboardist] Candida [Doyle]’s going to help get fingers right.”

Pulp performed a mixture of deep cuts and fan favourites during the concert. On “Sunrise” and their anthem “Common People,” former bandmate Richard Hawley, who had performed as the opening act, joined them. Below is the whole setlist.
Pulp will perform at Suffolk’s Latitude Festival this weekend before two gigs in London. They’ll show up during the Mexico City edition of Corona Capital in 2023 this November. Buy your tickets right here.
