Hold onto your guitars, because the Foo Fighters are bringing the thunder back! They made a triumphant comeback to the stage last week and bet your sweet ass they’ve been cooking up some rock and.. metal surprises for us.
Picture this: while jamming to their tune “No Son of Mine,” they sneakily dropped in the iconic riff from Black Sabbath’s “Paranoid” right in the middle. Talk about Easter egg of a musical treat! And as if that wasn’t enough, during their set at Sonic Temple, they unleashed a wild cover of Nine Inch Nails’ “March of the Pigs.”
Now, here’s where things really get juicy. Brace yourself for a mind-blowing medley that started with Devo’s groovy hit “Whip It,” slid smoothly into Puddle of Mudd’s emotional anthem “Blurry,” and right smack in the middle, they unleashed an absolutely scorching rendition of a Downward Spiral gem, complete with Dave Grohl belting out venomous screams like a rock god possessed! Oh, the energy, the sheer awesomeness of it all! If you’re not convinced yet, we’ve got the proof right here. Check out the mind-blowing footage below on YouTube.
Seeing as the new found touring drummer Josh Freese has played with all of the aforementioned bands, you can bet we may get some more gems like this throughout the 2023 touring schedule.
