One of my most favorite things to witness is the infiltration of one genre into another, one that might not fit but somehow works. This is just that scenario- 8-time GRAMMY Award winner, Carrie Underwood, set the stage ablaze in Moncton, NB at Croix-Bleue Medavie Stadium for the kickoff of her epic journey alongside rock legends Guns N’ Roses on their much-anticipated World Tour 2023. And let me tell you, it was an electrifying night that left us all craving for more! According the all the posts I saw in IG seeing as I was no where near the area.
Underwood, backed by her incredibly talented 8-piece band mixed it up with her signature style, she treated us to a medley of unique mash-ups and covers paying homage to her rock idols – think Joan Jett, Pat Benatar, and Heart – while also belting out timeless hits by Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, and Motörhead. The crowd was on their feet, singing along to her chart-toppers and grooving to the freshest tracks from her latest masterpiece, “Denim & Rhinestones.”
The surprises didn’t stop there! As the night soared to new heights, Underwood teamed up with the legendary Guns N’ Roses for a mind-blowing rendition of their classic hit, “Sweet Child O’ Mine.” And that wasn’t the end of it! She was welcomed back to the spotlight for the grand finale, joining forces once again with the rock icons to bring down the house with the anthemic “Paradise City.” Talk about an unforgettable musical spectacle that had us all in a frenzy!
If you’re itching for more of this incredible collaboration, mark your calendars! Catch Carrie Underwood and Guns N’ Roses tearing it up at the Parc Jean-Drapeau in Montreal, QE on August 8, and then again at GEODIS Park in Nashville, TN on August 26. Believe us, you won’t want to miss a beat.
And let’s not forget, Carrie Underwood and Guns N’ Roses have a history that’s as legendary as their performances. Last year, the spotlight was on Underwood when she surprised fans by inviting Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose to join her on stage at the Stagecoach Festival in April 2022. Their musical chemistry continued to sizzle, with Underwood making appearances during the band’s rocking shows at the UK’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last summer and even at the L.A. Crypto.com Arena earlier this year.
Carrie Underwood isn’t slowing down anytime soon! Fresh from her epic 43-city “The Denim & Rhinestones Tour,” she’s back in action with her REFLECTION: The Las Vegas Residency at Resorts World Las Vegas, returning this September. And guess what? She’s all set to shine as the star of NBC’s Sunday Night Football for an astonishing 11th consecutive show this Fall. Plus, she’s dialing up the fun with her very own SiriusXM channel, CARRIE’S COUNTRY – tune in and let the good vibes roll!
Mark September 22 on your calendar, because that’s when the deluxe edition of Carrie’s “Denim & Rhinestones” album, featuring a fabulous six-pack of new tracks, will drop. Get ready to be blown away!
So there you have it, music aficionados – Carrie Underwood and Guns N’ Roses are giving us a rockin’ ride of a lifetime, and we’re here for every exhilarating moment. Keep those speakers cranked up and stay tuned for more chart-topping news, soul-stirring collaborations, and foot-stomping beats. This musical journey is just getting started, and trust us, you won’t want to miss a single chord.
