Jerry Cantrell launched his headlining tour in support of his new solo album, I Want Blood, with a powerful performance in Niagara Falls, Ontario, at OLG Stage. His setlist featured a mix of solo material and classic Alice in Chains tracks, much to the excitement of his fans.
One moment that immediately made waves online was Cantrell’s decision to perform the Alice in Chains song “Hate to Feel”—marking the first time the track had been played live in over 30 years. Fans captured footage of the historic performance, which you can watch below.
Originally featured on Alice in Chains’ iconic 1992 album Dirt, “Hate to Feel” had not been performed live in decades until Cantrell brought it back, joined by vocalist Greg Puciato (Better Lovers, ex-Dillinger Escape Plan).
Cantrell’s latest album, I Want Blood, was released on October 18. The LP, co-produced by Cantrell and Joe Barresi (TOOL, Queens of the Stone Age, Melvins), was recorded at Barresi’s JHOC Studio in Pasadena, California. The album boasts an impressive lineup of contributors, including:
- Duff McKagan (Guns N’ Roses) – Bass
- Robert Trujillo (Metallica) – Bass
- Gil Sharone (Team Sleep, Stolen Babies) – Drums
- Mike Bordin (Faith No More) – Drums
- Lola Colette & Greg Puciato – Backing Vocals
