Legendary Southern California band (Hed) P.E has released Best of Unauthorized, a powerful new collection of their classic tracks, re-recorded, remixed, and revitalized for a new era. Featuring iconic songs from Broke, Blackout, and Only in Amerika, this album injects fresh energy into fan favorites while maintaining the raw intensity that made them underground legends.
“Last year, we did a remix of ‘Bartender’ with our brothers in Dropout Kings and DJ Lethal, bridging the gap between the old school and new school,” says frontman Jared Gomes. “That got us thinking—it would be cool to remix some other classic tracks from our back catalog. For years, we were frustrated that the explicit versions of some of our older albums weren’t available on streaming services. This version of ‘Killing Time’ sounds much more like how we play it live—raw and intense.”
As pioneers of the G-Punk movement, a unique fusion of punk rock, metal, hip-hop, and reggae, (Hed) P.E established themselves as a genre-defying force in heavy music. Known for their unfiltered lyrics, explosive energy, and a rebellious attitude, the band rose to prominence during the late ’90s and early 2000s nu-metal era. Their distinct sound earned them respect from peers like Jonathan Davis (Korn), M. Shadows (Avenged Sevenfold), and Chester Bennington (Linkin Park).
Over the past two decades, (Hed) P.E has performed on global stages alongside Suicidal Tendencies, System of a Down, Korn, Tech N9ne, Mötley Crüe, and even Black Sabbath during the legendary Ozzfest tour. Their signing with Suburban Noize Records in the early 2000s sparked a creative resurgence, cementing their influence in the underground music scene.
The band continues to push boundaries, with their latest album, DETOX, released in December via Suburban Noize Records. With Best of Unauthorized, (Hed) P.E invites fans—both old and new—to experience their most iconic tracks with a reloaded, high-energy twist.
