Metallica has announced the definitive re-release of the band’s 5x platinum sixth studio album, Load, out June 13 via the band’s own Blackened Recordings.
The Load remastered Limited Edition Deluxe Box Set is an ambitious and comprehensive time capsule of 1995-97 era Metallica, jam-packed with exclusives.
The set’s 15 CDs range from the remastered Load album to never-before-released collected riffs, demos and rough mixes, B-Sides and rarities, and a wealth of live material, while its 4 DVDs offer a plethora of behind the scenes, in-studio and live footage, on-air and television appearances, the band’s Polar Beach Party visit to Tuktoyaktuk, Canada, and more.

Radio stations worldwide can give listeners a one of a kind experience with the Load Box Set Radio Special, featuring James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, and Kirk Hammett in one-on-one conversations with host David Fricke. 28 years ago, David interviewed a much younger Metallica for the release of Load for Rolling Stone magazine. He brings a unique experience and knowledge to this radio special that very few people could talk about on the air. The Load Box Set Radio Special will be available to coincide with the June 13 release date and feature both a 60-minute and 90-minute version.
The 60-minute program will consist of roughly 50 minutes of content over 3 segments. An additional 20-25 minute segment will be available for those stations that want to fill a 90-minute time slot.
