Twenty One Pilots have announced their triumphant return with the new single “The Contract.”
“The Contract” is the first taste of Twenty One Pilots’ upcoming album, Breach, due in September. With a propulsive back beat, haunting piano (that evolves into a synthy riff) and the engrossing vocals of frontman Tyler Joseph, “The Contract” captures the band’s relentless energy. On the chorus, Joseph declares: “I don’t sleep much, that’s crazy, how’d you know that? / Keep myself up, that’s maybe how you know that / Ooh, promises and contracts I used to keep”
Breach will continue themes and storylines Twenty One Pilots has been crafting since their 2015 album Blurryface. The band hinted as such before the single’s release, sharing a message on social media which read: “Hello Clancy. Hello Blurryface. Let’s finish this.” The group’s most recent LP, Clancy, was released in 2024. 2018’s Trench and 2021’s Scaled and Icy also aligned with the group’s ongoing narrative.

In addition to dropping their new single, Twenty One Pilots announced THE CLANCY TOUR: BREACH 2025, a North America trek scheduled for the fall (complete tour dates below). The artist pre-sale begins Tuesday, June 17 at 10AM local time, and the general on-sale begins Friday, June 20 at 10AM local time.
