Maria Brink is coming for your soul this fall. In This Moment, the theatrical metal juggernaut known for turning every stage into a haunted cathedral of sound and fury, has announced the “Black Mass Tour” — a 23-date trek across the U.S. that promises to be as immersive as it is incendiary.
Launching September 18 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, and culminating in a final ritual at Bethlehem’s Wind Creek Events Center on October 24, the tour feels less like a typical rock run and more like a summoning. It’s a perfectly timed return to form for In This Moment, who are also expected to release new music this summer through Better Noise Music. Early whispers suggest it will continue the band’s evolution toward gothic-laced industrial metal with cinematic scope — think Black Sabbath via Blade Runner with Brink as the high priestess of both.
Joining them on the tour is a trio of sonic contrasts that underscore the band’s flair for the theatrical. Dayseeker, who’ll appear on select dates, bring their brand of emotional post-hardcore — a modern, moody counterbalance to In This Moment’s ritualistic grandeur. Meanwhile, The Funeral Portrait offer anthemic glam-goth energy with just enough mascara and melody to summon the spirits of My Chemical Romance and AFI. And then there’s DED, the Arizona-based alt-metal outfit with a knack for combining nu-metal fury and unfiltered catharsis — a natural fit for this celebration of the dark and divine.
While In This Moment are no strangers to large-scale spectacles — their past tours have leaned heavy on stagecraft, fire, and the kind of choreography that blurs the line between concert and ceremony — the “Black Mass Tour” feels especially pointed. Tickets go on sale soon. Bring your black eyeliner. And maybe an offering.
