Summer 2025 just got louder – Deftones are back with a brand new single titled “My Mind Is a Mountain.”
The song features many of the hallmarks fans have come to expect from Deftones. A wave of powerful guitars ignite the track, before frontman Chino Moreno lances into his signature wail. Propulsive yet haunting, aggressive without being abrasive, “My Mind Is a Mountain” is a welcomed edition to Deftone’s impressive catalog. Listen to the song below.
Deftones had previously teased that new music was in the works. Most recently, the band shared a cryptic message on the bigs screens following their June 29 concert at London’s Crystal Palace Park.
“My Mind Is a Mountain” is the first taste of Private Music, Deftones 10th studio album, due out August 22. The band will launch their North American tour on the same day with a performance in Vancouver. The trek, which also features Phantogram and IDLES, will conclude September 19 in Atlanta.
Deftones recorded and co-produced Private Music with Nick Raskulinecz, the same producer who helmed their previous albums Diamond Eyes (2010) and Koi No Yokan (2012). Deftones’ most recent LP, 2020’s Ohms, was produced by Terry Date.
