A new trailer has dropped for season 3 of the Beavis and Butt-Head reboot, and it features the titular duo attempting to buy one of the biggest bands in the world: Metallica.
The trailer opens with Beavis and Butt-Head arriving at a Metallica concert by helicopter. The band stops mid-performance and looks up at the chopper as it hovers over the crowd.
“Beavis and Butt-Head?” frontman James Hetfield declares. “We love you guys!”
“How much to buy Metallica?” Beavis replies, he and his partner appearing remarkably rich in the clip.
“One gold bar ought to be enough!” Hetfield responds as he’s smacked to the ground by a hunk of gold thrown from the helicopter. Metallica and the audience only briefly pause before erupting into cheers. The band’s classic track “For Whom the Bell Tolls” plays through the entirety of the trailer, which you can watch below.
Beavis and Butt-Head will return to Comedy Central on Sept. 3. This marks the third season of the reboot and the 11th overall. The controversial cartoon memorably started on MTV in the ’90s, with an original run that lasted from 1992 to 1997. The animated duo has also appeared in two movies: 1996’s Beavis and Butt-Head Do America and 2022’s Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe.
