After months of rumors, Paramore lead singer Hayley Williams has surprise-released a new 17-song solo album via her website.
The release isn’t as simple as “login and listen.” Instead, fans have received an access code from Williams’ hair dye company, Good Dye Young. Upon entry, users access a site featuring MP3s of all of the new tunes, including “True Believer,” “Hard,” “Negative Self Talk,” “True Believer,” “Discovery Channel,” “Zissou” “BloodBros,” “I Won’t Quit On You” and “BrotherlyHate. Also among the tracks, “Mirtazapine,” a song Williams debuted last week during an appearance on Nashville Public Radio’s WNXP. She later performed it with Bleachers at the Newport Folk Fest (video below)
An additional folder labeled “Misc” leads fans to a performance video recorded in Phoenix in 2017, along with a lyric book and a t-shirt emblazoned with “Hayley Williams is my favorite band.”
So far, Williams has not commented about the new music. Whether the material will receive an official release on streaming platforms or physical copies remains unknown.
Williams most recently released the single “I Like It I Like It” with Moses Sumney earlier this year. Though she’s best known as the frontwoman of Paramore, Williams has released two solo albums — 2020’s Petals for Armor and 2021’s Flowers for Vases / Descansos.
Williams’ new batch of solo material arrives just days after the release of Paramore’s 20th anniversary deluxe edition of the band’s debut album, All We Know Is Falling.
