Geese Make Saturday Night Live Debut With Two Songs From Getting Killed

Brooklyn rock band Geese stepped onto one of indie rock’s biggest stages over the weekend, making their debut as musical guests on Saturday Night Live with a pair of performances drawn from their latest album, Getting Killed.

Appearing on the January 24 episode hosted by Teyana Taylor, the band leaned into the darker, more volatile edges of their sound. Their first performance featured “Au Pays du Cocaine,” a creeping, off-kilter cut that underscored the group’s growing comfort with tension and restraint. Later in the night, Geese returned with a brooding take on “Trinidad,” letting the song unfurl slowly before snapping into something more abrasive and alive.

Both performances reflected the uneasy energy that defines Getting Killed, the band’s third album and a sharp pivot from 2023’s 3D Country. Frontman Cameron Winter has described the record as the product of discomfort and pressure, a feeling that translated clearly onstage as the band filled Studio 8H with jagged guitars, restless rhythms, and a sense that things could veer off at any moment.

Geese are currently in the middle of a busy touring stretch, with international dates on deck followed by a return to the U.S. for major festival appearances later this year, including Coachella, Governors Ball, and Bonnaroo.

For a band that thrives on instability, SNL didn’t smooth the edges—it amplified them.
