Veteran indie rock institution Built to Spill are heading back on the road in 2026, announcing an expansive run of US tour dates stretching from spring through the end of summer.
The trek begins May 2 in Burlington, Vermont and winds through dozens of cities across the country before wrapping September 1 in Salt Lake City. Along the way, the band will stop in major markets including Atlanta, St. Louis, Minneapolis, San Francisco, Washington, DC, and Los Angeles.
Tickets for the tour are available here.
Fronted by guitarist and songwriter Doug Martsch, Built to Spill have remained one of indie rock’s most enduring touring acts for more than three decades. Since forming in Boise, Idaho in the early 1990s, the band has built a reputation for expansive guitar work, emotionally detailed songwriting, and live performances that often stretch songs into improvisational territory.
The group’s most recent studio album, When the Wind Forgets Your Name, arrived in 2022 and marked the band’s first full-length release in seven years. The record continued Martsch’s signature blend of layered guitars and introspective songwriting, reaffirming Built to Spill’s place as one of the genre’s defining voices.
Beyond their own headlining shows, Built to Spill will also appear at several festivals and special events throughout the year. The band is scheduled to perform at Treefort Music Fest, Zootown Music Festival, and Pickathon.
They will also join other artists for select special performances, including dates with Bright Eyes, The Hold Steady, and Courtney Barnett.
Support across various dates of the tour will come from a rotating cast of openers including Lily Seabird, The Hypos, Wussy, Guerilla Toss, and PLAYDEAD.
