The Lemon Twigs have a new album on the way announcing Look For Your Mind!, due out May 8 via Captured Tracks, and introduced the record with the lead single “I Just Can’t Get Over Losing You.”
The forthcoming release marks the band’s sixth studio album and follows 2024’s A Dream Is All We Know. While previous Lemon Twigs records were largely built around brothers Brian and Michael D’Addario, this time the sessions expanded to include live band members Reza Matin on drums and Danny Ayala on bass, with Eva Chambers of Tchotchke also contributing.
According to Brian D’Addario, the new album is rooted in the disorienting feeling of modern life.
“I do think that now is a time of insanity,” he said in a statement. “You really have to hold onto your own mind if you don’t wanna lose it.”
That theme runs through Look For Your Mind!, which appears set to pair the group’s familiar retro-pop instincts with a more pointed sense of unease and reflection. Lead single “I Just Can’t Get Over Losing You” delivers the kind of melodic, classic-pop craftsmanship that has become a Lemon Twigs trademark, while still bending the formula with the left-turn songwriting choices the band is known for.
“Every time we try to write something that’s completely straightforward, we can’t help adding an element which comes out of left field,” Brian added. “We always want to write a song we’ve never heard before.”
Alongside the album announcement, The Lemon Twigs also rolled out an extensive 2026 tour spanning North America, the UK, and Ireland. The run begins April 24 in Montreal and includes stops in Toronto, Chicago, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., London, Dublin, Seattle, San Francisco, Santa Ana, and San Diego.
Southern California fans will be able to catch the band on June 19 at Garden Amp in Santa Ana and June 20 at Music Box in San Diego.
With Look For Your Mind! arriving this spring and a wide-ranging tour to support it, The Lemon Twigs are setting up what could be one of indie rock’s more distinctive album cycles of 2026.
