The Pretty Reckless Release New Music Video for ‘When I Wake Up’

The Pretty Reckless have released a striking new video for “When I Wake Up,” offering an unfiltered look into a turbulent chapter of frontwoman Taylor Momsen’s life.

Directed by Momsen herself, the video draws directly from a period she describes as chaotic and self-destructive, aiming to present that time with complete honesty. Rather than polishing the visuals, Momsen intentionally leaned into the rawness of the footage. “Reality doesn’t come color-corrected, and I didn’t want to change what we captured,” she explained. “The imperfection is the grade.”

The clip features a number of notable cameos, including Jessica Szohr, Connor Paolo, and Foo Fighters members Pat Smear and Ilan Rubin. Their appearances add a sense of contrast throughout the video, with moments that feel more grounded set against the otherwise gritty and emotionally heavy tone.

“When I Wake Up” is set to appear on The Pretty Reckless’ upcoming album Dear God, which is scheduled for release on June 26. The project will mark the band’s next full-length effort and continues their evolution sonically and thematically.

In support of the new material, The Pretty Reckless have also announced a European and UK headline tour set to kick off in November and run through December, bringing the new songs to audiences overseas later this year.
