After six years without a full-length release, The Strokes have officially confirmed their next chapter. The band’s new album Reality Awaits is set to arrive this summer, marking their first LP since 2020’s Grammy-winning The New Abnormal.
The announcement came via a short teaser shared across the band’s social platforms. The clip leans into a retro aesthetic, styled like an early 80s magazine ad, paired with a brief snippet of new music. While the audio offers only a glimpse, it suggests a continuation of the band’s sleek, groove-driven sound. The teaser closes with the tagline “In the flesh, it’s even sexier,” hinting at the band’s signature mix of cool detachment and swagger.
So far, no tracklist, official single, or release date has been revealed. Still, the timing lines up with a packed live schedule that already has the band back in motion.
The Strokes recently played San Francisco’s The Warfield on April 4, running through a career-spanning setlist that included “Reptilia,” “Last Nite,” and “The Adults Are Talking.” Notably, no new material was debuted, though that could change as they continue their current run.
Next up is a show at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, followed by two weekends at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. From there, the band is set for a major festival circuit throughout 2026, including appearances at Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, Just Like Heaven Festival, Shaky Knees Festival, and Sea.Hear.Now Festival.
With a new album on the way and a full slate of high-profile shows ahead, Reality Awaits is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated rock releases of the year.
