Foo Fighters are officially back. The band’s long-awaited new album Your Favorite Toy is out now, marking the 12th studio release in a career that continues to redefine modern rock more than three decades in.
Released via RCA Records and the band’s own Roswell Records, the project arrives following months of buildup fueled by a string of high-impact singles. Tracks like “Asking For A Friend,” “Caught In The Echo,” and “Of All People” set the tone early, leaning into a raw, guitar-driven sound that calls back to the band’s garage rock roots while still hitting with stadium-sized intensity.
Critics have already taken notice. Associated Press described the album as “punchy, catchy and stadium tour ready,” while FLOOD Magazine called it “a vital recalibration.” Early reactions point to a band that sounds refreshed, energized, and fully locked in.
Alongside the album release, Foo Fighters also dropped a new video for standout track “Window.” Directed by Jake Erland and developed from a concept by frontman Dave Grohl, the visual follows a window cleaner scaling a skyscraper, observing the lives unfolding inside while remaining unseen. It’s a fitting metaphor for a record that balances introspection with explosive moments.
The album itself was recorded at home and co-produced by the band alongside Oliver Roman, with mixing handled by Mark “Spike” Stent. Across its 10 tracks, Your Favorite Toy moves between heavy, riff-driven anthems and more nuanced, melodic moments, showcasing the range that has kept Foo Fighters at the forefront of rock for decades.
The release also sets the stage for a massive global run. The band’s Take Cover world tour kicks off this month with a sold-out show in Bridgeport, Connecticut, before hitting major festivals like Welcome to Rockville and Bottlerock. The North American leg resumes in August and runs through late September, with support from Queens of the Stone Age, Mannequin Pussy, and more.
