Dirty Heads Drop “Better” and “Sound Boy Killa” Ahead of New Album 7 Seas

Dirty Heads are back with a double release, sharing two new tracks—Better and Sound Boy Killa—as they continue rolling out their upcoming album 7 Seas, due June 12 via Better Noise Music.

“Better” leans into the band’s more reflective side, built around a message of unity and resilience. Percussionist Jon Olazabal described the track as a reminder to “move forward with love and compassion,” while Duddy B noted the song came together effortlessly—one of those rare moments where everything just clicks.

On the flip side, “Sound Boy Killa” taps into a heavier, more experimental energy. Jared Watson pulls influence from UK garage, blending bass-forward production with reggae and hip-hop elements. The result is a dynamic, club-ready track rooted in Jamaican sound system culture but pushed into new sonic territory.

Together, the two songs highlight the range that’s defined Dirty Heads for over two decades, effortlessly fusing reggae, alternative, hip-hop, and pop into something unmistakably their own.

The band will support 7 Seas with a massive summer run, co-headlining with 311 and hitting major amphitheaters and festivals across North America.

With over 3 billion career streams and a catalog that continues to evolve, Dirty Heads are once again expanding their sound while staying rooted in the laid-back, genre-blurring style that made them a staple in the scene.
