Weekend of May 9, 2026
Last weekend’s Skratch N Sniff broadcast once again proved why the show continues to set the standard for genre-blending rock radio. With Alt Mix #697 and Rock Mix #1211, the two-hour ride balanced throwback anthems, modern alt hits, and high-energy remixes that kept the momentum moving from start to finish.
On the Alternative side, the mix leaned heavily into nostalgic flips and crossover moments. Remixes of Incubus’ “Drive” and Panic! at the Disco’s “Say Amen” set the tone early, while newer cuts like MGK and Fred Durst’s “Fix Ur Face” kept things firmly rooted in the current alt landscape.
The mix continued to bounce between eras with creative edits of Foo Fighters, Modest Mouse, and MGMT, while newer alt voices like Towa Bird and Bad Suns added fresh energy to the rotation.
A standout moment came in Segment 2 with AWOLNATION and Makua’s “Catch A Wave,” continuing its rise as one of the more compelling alt releases of the year.
The Pier feature song of the week landed in Segment 4 with Common Kings’ “Rhythm of the Night,” bringing a smooth reggae-rock groove into the mix and reinforcing the show’s signature cross-genre identity.
Over on the Rock Mix #1211, the energy turned heavier without losing that remix-driven DNA. Classic staples from Pearl Jam, Linkin Park, and AC/DC were reworked for modern ears, while newer acts like Wage War and The Warning kept the mix grounded in today’s rock scene.
There were also strong showings from Sublime with “Until The Sun Explodes” and Codefendants’ “Lonely Life,” both continuing to build momentum within the Skratch N Sniff ecosystem.
The back half of the Rock Mix leaned into heavier territory with remixed cuts from Slipknot, System of a Down, and Korn, before closing out with a strong mix of modern alt-metal and rock crossover.
As always, the show wrapped with its signature pacing, clean transitions, and a balance of nostalgia and discovery that keeps listeners locked in week after week.
Fans who missed the broadcast or want to run it back can catch both mixes now on SoundCloud.
