Cisco Adler Strips Things Down With New Acoustic Version of “Wadin'”

Multifaceted instrumentalist, musician, and producer Cisco Adler returns with a fresh acoustic version of his single “Wadin'”, offering a stripped down take on the breezy reggae rock anthem. Trading the original’s infectious summertime groove for a more intimate acoustic arrangement, the new version brings the song’s heartfelt message to the forefront while maintaining the laid back California sunshine sound that has become synonymous with Adler’s music.

Originally released as a feel good soundtrack for endless beach days and warm summer nights, “Wadin'” captures the anticipation, longing, and optimism of waiting for the person of your dreams to finally notice you. The acoustic rendition offers a new perspective on the track, allowing its melody and romantic sentiment to shine through in a more organic and intimate setting.

“‘Wadin’’ is a love song in the vein of Bob Marley & The Wailers’s ‘Waiting In Vain’ with a little summertime twist. If you love someone, you will wait a lifetime for them to come in with the tide,” said Cisco Adler. “I was playing the tune one day on my acoustic and just thought it took on a different tone and meaning when it was simplified to just the guitar and vocal. So why not let the bird fly…”

The acoustic version of “Wadin'” showcases the natural chemistry between Adler’s signature melodic style and the band’s reggae rock sensibilities. With its warm acoustic textures and easygoing atmosphere, the reimagined track feels equally at home during a sunset drive along the coast or a quiet evening by the water.

The release follows Adler’s previous single “Mango Tree,” a deeply personal and autobiographical song inspired by his childhood growing up in Maui. Both tracks represent a creative return to his musical roots following the devastating California wildfires that destroyed his recording studio, wiping out years of work and forcing him to rebuild from the ground up.

For more than two decades, Cisco Adler has remained one of the defining creative forces behind the evolution of modern reggae rock and beach inspired music. As an artist, songwriter, producer, and collaborator, he has helped shape the careers and sounds of artists including Mike Posner, Mickey Avalon, Wiz Khalifa, Mod Sun, Dirt Nasty, Shwayze, Cody Simpson, Yung Pinch, AER, The Internet, Hoodie Allen, Gnash, and many more.

Beyond his work in music, Adler expanded his cultural footprint through MTV’s Buzzin’ while composing music for film and television projects including Red Dawn, The Final Destination, and Tropic Thunder. Often recognized as one of the architects of the modern California reggae rock sound, Adler continues to blur the lines between genres while creating music that embodies carefree living, coastal culture, and timeless melodies.

With the acoustic version of “Wadin’,” Cisco Adler breathes new life into an already infectious summer love song, proving that sometimes all you need is a beautiful melody, an acoustic guitar, and a reminder that the best things in life are worth waiting for.

Adler will join the Malibu Rising lineup on Saturday, October 24, 2026 at Cielo Farms in Malibu, CA. All proceeds benefit The Malibu Project, supporting ocean restoration research and long-term efforts to protect and preserve Malibu’s coastal waters.

On November 15-19, Adler will join artists, such as Yelawolf, Common Kings, Amigo the Devil, G. Love & The Special Sauce, Jakobs Castle, and more on the Sublime Reef Madness Cruise.
