Skratch N Sniff returned for the weekend of October 24, 2026, with two stacked mixes featuring everything from alternative rock and indie favorites to metal, hip-hop, and electronic remixes. Alternative Mix #721 and Rock Mix #1237 each delivered 30 tracks across six segments, combining familiar anthems with fresh releases and unexpected collaborations.
This week’s shows featured music from Sublime, The Strokes, Metallica, Linkin Park, Foo Fighters, Justice, Tame Impala, and more, alongside a selection of remixes that put new spins on some of rock’s most recognizable songs.
The Alternative Mix also highlighted Phoenix-based artist Mouse Powell, whose collaboration with Shwayze, “Left Hand Side,” earned this week’s ThePier.org Song of the Week spotlight.
Alternative Mix #721: Indie Favorites, New Releases, and Reggae-Rock Crossovers
Alternative Mix #721 kicked things off with a run of indie and electronic favorites, opening with a Jersey remix of Phoenix’s “1901” and a Seeing Double remix of Two Door Cinema Club’s “What You Know”. Justice and Tame Impala’s “Flower In A Hurricane” followed, bringing together two of electronic and psychedelic music’s most recognizable names.
Phantogram’s “Fall In Love” received a remix from Neus, while The Strokes rounded out the first segment with “Lonely In The Future”.
The second segment shifted between alternative rock and electronic production, featuring a Moonlight remix of Arctic Monkeys’ “Do I Wanna Know?” and a Synchronice remix of Imagine Dragons’ “Radioactive”. Buffalo Traffic Jam’s “Fool’s Gold”, Little Image’s “Out Of My Mind” remixed by Colony House, and Palaye Royale’s “Lost In Translation” helped balance the reworked favorites with newer selections.
Things took a heavier turn in the third segment, where 3OH!3’s “Don’t Trust Me” received a Khani remix before Ecca Vandal’s “Cruising To Self Soothe” brought a fresh alternative edge to the set. Highly Suspect’s “My Name Is Human” appeared in a Jetpack Brigaid remix, followed by DJ Skillz and EV’s take on MGK and Blackbear’s “My Ex’s Best Friend”. Codefendants closed the segment with “The Fix”, bringing their punk and hip-hop crossover sound into the mix.
The fourth segment featured one of the weekend’s more interesting mashups, Beastie Boys x Chemical Brothers’ “INTER-GO-LACTIC”, alongside remixes of Cold War Kids’ “Hang Me Up To Dry” by Takimba and Maxwell Cutty and Temper City’s “Self Aware” by Lumix. LEAP’s “Exit Signs” rounded out the segment.
At the center of the show was this week’s ThePier.org Song of the Week, Mouse Powell’s “Left Hand Side” featuring Shwayze.
The Pier Song of the Week: Mouse Powell Featuring Shwayze, “Left Hand Side”
Phoenix, Arizona-based artist Mouse Powell is continuing to build momentum with his new album, Cherry, released through Ineffable Records.
Blending hip-hop, reggae-rock, and alternative influences, Powell has developed a sound that connects several corners of the independent music scene. His latest project includes collaborations with Shwayze, Tropidelic, and other artists, with “Left Hand Side” featuring Shwayze receiving this week’s spotlight.
Powell first established himself in the underground hip-hop community through two collaborative projects with Grieves under the name Why Not? He later expanded into reggae-rock through collaborations with artists including Katastro and Artikal Sound System.
Earlier this year, Powell also performed at California Roots Festival in Monterey, further establishing his presence within the reggae-rock community.
With Cherry, Powell continues bringing his hip-hop roots into a broader alternative sound, making “Left Hand Side” a fitting selection for this week’s Alternative Mix.
Alternative Mix Closes with Sublime, No Doubt, and Fontaines D.C.
The final two segments brought another wide-ranging collection of artists into the fold.

The final stretch leaned into the reggae-rock and Southern California alternative sounds that have long been part of the Skratch N Sniff identity. Sublime’s “F.T.R.” opened the segment, followed by a Kastra remix of No Doubt’s “Hella Good”.
Slightly Stoopid and G. Love’s collaboration “Back Seat Drivin'” continued that connection before Pierce The Veil’s “So Far So Fake” received a Xuinn remix. Dead Poet Society’s “Cold” brought Alternative Mix #721 to a close.
