Skratch N Sniff Celebrates Halloween 2026 With Ice Nine Kills and YUNGBLUD Rock & Alternative Specials

Skratch N Sniff brought a double dose of Halloween chaos to the airwaves over the weekend of October 31, 2026, with two special editions of its nationally syndicated radio show. Ice Nine Kills frontman Spencer Charnas joined the Rock Mix for an icy, horror-fueled Halloween special, while YUNGBLUD took over the Alternative Mix for a bloody celebration of alternative music’s darker side.

Across the two shows, hosts Malcolm Ryker and Christen Limon delivered 60 tracks spanning metal, alternative rock, industrial, electronic remixes, and Halloween classics, combining exclusive Skratch N Sniff-style mashups with songs from both guest artists. The specials aired as Rock Mix #1238 and Alternative Mix #722, bringing a total of four hours of Halloween-themed programming to listeners.

Ice Nine Kills Bring Horror to Rock Mix #1238

For the Halloween Rock Special, Skratch N Sniff teamed up with Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills, whose cinematic approach to metalcore and love of horror films made the band a natural fit for the occasion.

The special featured seven Ice Nine Kills tracks, opening with “Twisting The Knife,” the band’s collaboration with actress and musician McKenna Grace released in February for Scream 7. The mix also included “The Great Unknown,” “Savages,” “Rainy Day,” “Hip To Be Scared” featuring Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix, “A Grave Mistake,” and “Stabbing In The Dark.”

The show’s horror theme extended far beyond Ice Nine Kills. Rob Zombie’s “Living Dead Girl,” White Zombie’s “More Human Than Human,” Motionless In White’s “Werewolf,” and Avenged Sevenfold’s “Nightmare” brought some familiar darkness to the playlist. Meanwhile, Skratch N Sniff remixes of Slipknot, Metallica, Disturbed, and Ozzy Osbourne pushed the energy into electronic territory.

Other highlights included a remix of AFI’s “Miss Murder,” Ghost’s “Dance Macabre” remixed by Carpenter Brut, and a mashup combining Skillet’s “Monster” with Three Days Grace’s “Animal I Have Become.”

The show closed with a run featuring Mötley Crüe, The Funeral Portrait, Ice Nine Kills, and Muse’s fitting Halloween anthem, “You Make Me Feel Like It’s Halloween.”

YUNGBLUD Takes Over Alternative Mix #722 for a Bludy Halloween

On the alternative side, YUNGBLUD joined Skratch N Sniff for a special “Bludy Halloween Mix,” bringing his genre-crossing approach to a playlist filled with alternative rock, post-punk, electronic remixes, and Halloween favorites.

The show kicked off with YUNGBLUD’s collaboration with The Smashing Pumpkins on “Zombie,” a reimagining of his song featuring Billy Corgan and the band. Released in early 2026, the collaboration brought together two generations of alternative rock and provided a fitting opening to the Halloween broadcast.

YUNGBLUD remained a recurring presence throughout the show, with “The Funeral,” his Halsey collaboration “11 Minutes,” “Hello Heaven, Hello,” “parents,” “Fleabag,” and “Tissues” appearing across the six segments.

Between those selections, Skratch N Sniff leaned heavily into Halloween-inspired alternative music. The Specials’ “Ghost Town,” Nine Inch Nails’ “Dead Souls,” Ministry’s “Every Day Is Halloween,” and Talking Heads’ “Psycho Killer” brought an eerie mix of post-punk, industrial, and new wave to the broadcast.

Electronic remixes also played a major role in the special, including Purple Disco Machine’s take on Royal Blood’s “Trouble’s Coming,” the Oliver remix of Big Data’s “Dangerous,” and A-Trak’s iconic remix of Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ “Heads Will Roll.”

Other highlights included Tame Impala’s “Dracula,” Cage The Elephant’s “Spiderhead,” CHVRCHES’ rendition of “The Killing Moon,” and The Smashing Pumpkins’ “We Only Come Out At Night.”
