Long Beach Dub Allstars Announce New Album “Full Spectrum” and Release New Single

Long Beach Dub Allstars have released their new single, “Lil Bit of Sunshine,” the first taste of the band’s forthcoming studio album, Full Spectrum, arriving in Spring 2027 via Regime Music Group.

Driven by an infectious rhythm, turntable scratching and the unmistakable sound of Long Beach, “Lil Bit of Sunshine” balances an uplifting groove with a deeper message about grief, perseverance and finding your way back into the present. The single marks the beginning of a new chapter for Long Beach Dub Allstars following the release of their acclaimed 2023 album, Echo Mountain High.

The earliest version of “Lil Bit of Sunshine” began as a hip-hop-leaning demo inspired by the passing of a father and the words he left behind for his sons and family. As the band worked on the song, it evolved into something brighter: a reminder to step outside the weight of the world, reconnect with reality and allow yourself to enjoy life again.

“The message is pretty strong,” vocalist Opie Ortiz said about the album’s lead single. “It’s about loved ones, living life and trying to get out of the mindset created by the world. It’s about stepping outside of what’s going on today.”

The chorus captures the heart of the track: whether life brings sunshine or rain, the only way forward is to keep moving.

“It wrapped up all the sad things by saying that you’re still going,” Ortiz explained. “Whether it’s rain or sunshine, you’re still going. You fall down, but you can get back up.”

“Lil Bit of Sunshine” introduces Full Spectrum, an album that explores the complete musical and emotional range of Long Beach Dub Allstars.  Recording basic tracks at both Kona Sound Recording and 64 Sound, the band continued on to record overdubs at Miguel Happoldt’s house, ultimately adding the final touches and mixing at 17th Street Recording Studio with Lewis “Lew” Richards at the helm.  The record draws from reggae, dub, ska, punk, hip-hop, soul and dancehall while balancing moments of joy and escape with songs about social awareness, personal responsibility, perseverance and the realities of the world around us.

Born from one of Southern California’s most influential musical communities, Long Beach Dub Allstars have spent more than 25 years carrying the spirit of the original Long Beach sound forward while continuing to experiment and evolve. With “Lil Bit of Sunshine,” the band opens the door to its next era with a song rooted in friendship, resilience and the belief that the right feeling matters more than perfection.

“Lil Bit of Sunshine” is available now on all major digital streaming platforms. Full Spectrum will be released on April 9th, 2027 via Regime Music Group. Pre-order the band’s new album HERE
