We had a little 3 Question Session with Eric from I Prevail. Surprisingly you can learn a lot about a person in 3 simple questions. We figured you might want to know a little more about your favourite rockers. (Is that still a phrase?)
Before we get to the 3QS lets talk a little about the making of “True Power” and how it came to be.
The heavy rock band from Oakland County was on tour in Europe and less than a year into the campaign for its second album, “Trauma,” when the pandemic began shutting things down. The quintet made its way back home and did what we all did and hunkered down for what seemed like an eternity.
“We had to decide, like, ‘Hey, do we cross our fingers and hope we can still tour on the ‘Trauma’ cycle, or do we kind of just say, ‘Hey, this is probably gonna be a couple of years of going through this pandemic, so do we just get in the studio and start going crazy?’” recalls I Prevail’s Brian Burkheiser, who sings the “clean” vocals in contrast to co-founder and co-frontman Eric Vanlerberghe’s more guttural delivery.
“Basically we made the call to go in the studio and just see what would happen. Before you know it, two years later we were like, ‘Damn, we’re still working on the record…’”
Find out who Eric’s favorite artists are or if he has any guilty pleasures. keep scrolling and you’ll find the answers, the video for “Bad Things” and a playlist you might want to put on repeat.
