Check out the latest offerings in the music scene on snsmix.com! This September brings an array of captivating releases, where established artists like Pretenders, Paul Rodgers of Bad Company, and Wilco present exciting new material. However, the spotlight for September 2023’s music releases is predominantly on extensive reissues and captivating live performances.
Pretenders’ upcoming album, titled “Relentless,” marks Chrissie Hynde’s second collaboration with guitarist James Walbourne. Notably, the album features a special guest orchestration by Jonny Greenwood from Radiohead. Paul Rodgers makes a triumphant return with his latest solo album, marking his first since 2000’s “Electric.” An intriguing addition to the roster, Wilco’s “Cousin,” produced by singer-songwriter Cate Le Bon, breaks new ground as the band collaborates with someone beyond their usual circle for the first time since 2007’s “Sky Blue Sky.”
Among the highly anticipated reissues, a standout is The Who’s extensive box set, which delves into the classic “Who’s Next” album and the rock opera “Life House” that inspired it. The Steve Miller Band commemorates the anniversary of their breakthrough album with “J50: The Evolution of The Joker.” Jethro Tull’s deluxe 40th-anniversary edition of “The Broadsword and the Beast” boasts a remix by Steven Wilson, the founder of Porcupine Tree.
The live releases for September also promise to captivate audiences. “Rumours Live” by Fleetwood Mac takes us back to their iconic concert at the Forum in Los Angeles on August 29, 1977, when “Rumours” topped the charts. “Live at the Matrix 1967: The Original Masters” offers a glimpse of the Doors on the brink of stardom. Additionally, a posthumous live box set is in the works from the legendary trio of Jeff Beck, Tim Bogert, and Carmine Appice.
