Sammy Hagar recently made a guest appearance on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show, unveiling the formation of an exciting new supergroup. The ensemble, comprised of the seasoned bassist Michael Anthony, renowned second-generation drummer Jason Bonham, and the accomplished guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani, is set to embark on a “Best of All Worlds Tour” next year.
In a momentous debut at the SiriusXM studios, the quartet treated fans to a live performance, showcasing classic Van Halen hits like “Right Now” and “5150.” Their set also paid homage to musical pioneers such as Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin, as well as celebrating the legacy of Eddie Van Halen and Anthony’s and Hagar’s musical journey.
Discussing the upcoming tour with Howard Stern, Hagar emphasized the deep exploration of the Van Halen catalog, expressing the necessity of having Joe Satriani on board. The band aims to perform even the earlier Van Halen hits predating Hagar’s involvement. Hagar extended an open invitation to former bandmates Alex Van Halen and David Lee Roth, urging them to join the celebration of Van Halen.
Despite the estrangement, Hagar revealed his persistent efforts to reconnect with Alex Van Halen, expressing optimism about a potential reunion. He emphasized the significance of this tour as a legacy project, stating, “Let’s go finish what we started.”
The Howard Stern Show, available on SiriusXM channel Howard 100, airs live Mondays through Wednesdays at 7:00 am ET, with full episodes accessible on the SiriusXM app.
