mgk (formerly Machine Gun Kelly) invites fans back inside his living room at Cheshire Cottage for another intimate performance of his “Sun To Me” cover by country music singer-songwriter Zach Bryan.
Zach Bryan, known for his hit songs “Something in the Orange” and the Grammy-winning duet “I Remember Everything” with Kacey Musgraves, first gained prominence during his service in the U.S. Navy, recording songs in his free time and sharing them online. His authentic and heartfelt music has earned him a dedicated fan base, making mgk’s choice to cover “Sun To Me” a meaningful nod to Bryan’s rising influence.
Just last week, mgk released a live version of “BMXXing” with legendary rockstar Travis Barker. This track, released earlier this month, highlights mgk’s love for BMX while paying homage to the skating community.
In March, mgk teamed up with fellow Ohio native Trippie Redd for their joint project genre: sadboy. The emo-laden effort features singles like “beauty” and “lost boys.” Following its release, mgk and Trippie delivered back-to-back performances in New York and Ohio, showcasing their dynamic partnership and solidifying their place among the best tandems in music.
This period marks a transformation for the artist formerly known as Machine Gun Kelly. Colson Baker, now performing under the alias mgk, has officially changed his stage name across streaming platforms with the release of his latest single. Along with this name change, the 33-year-old “Bloody Valentine” singer recently debuted a new blackout tattoo that spans his shoulders and most of his arms, covering many of his existing tattoos. He captioned an Instagram photo of the new ink, “For spiritual purposes only,” thanking tattoo artist ROXX.
