Kurt Deimer Releases Video for “Big Toe” Featuring Phil X Ahead of Debut Album

Kurt Deimer Drops “Big Toe” Music Video Featuring Phil X

Rising rock musician, actor, and film producer Kurt Deimer has officially announced the release of his debut album, And So It Begins…, arriving Friday, May 9 via Bald Man Records. In anticipation of the album, Deimer has unveiled the music video for his new single, “Big Toe,” a moody and cinematic rock track featuring a powerful guitar solo from Phil X (Bon Jovi).

The track, co-written with Ben Trexel, is a song of hope, blending Deimer’s deep, husky vocals with Phil X’s expressive guitar work. The video, directed by Paul Boyd (known for working with Neon Trees, Dave Stewart, and Shania Twain), further enhances the song’s emotional depth. Watch the official music video below.

The Story Behind “Big Toe”

Deimer shared the inspiration behind the song, recalling its origins in 2019 when he was sitting outside in New Jersey with a beer, gazing at the New York City skyline. The imagery of a “silver moon and ghostly sky” inspired the lyrics, which later evolved into a song about second chances and personal transformation.

“Many people have near-death experiences and come back with a second chance to change their lives. ‘Big Toe’ is about taking that opportunity to become a better person—it’s never too late to change.” – Kurt Deimer

And So It Begins…: A Genre-Spanning Rock Album

Produced by five-time GRAMMY-winning producer Chris Lord-Alge (Green Day, Breaking Benjamin), And So It Begins… is a 17-track rock spectacle that explores various musical styles. Featuring collaborations with Queensrÿche legend Geoff Tate and a powerful cover of Pink Floyd’s “Have A Cigar” that transitions into The Doors’ “Riders on the Storm,” the album is a bold statement from Deimer.

The record includes previously released singles like Live Or Die, described by RIFF Magazine as “new classic rock,” along with tracks such as Dance, Hero, and Fight. The full tracklist is listed below:
