We caught up with everybody’s favorite drinking partners, Moonshine Bandits to get to know the men behind the shine. Watch the SNSMix exclusive “5 Things You Didn’t Know” with Moonshine Bandits.
BACKSTORY:
Since their formation in Los Banos California in 2003, MOONSHINE BANDITS’ blue-collar work ethic and unwavering persistence has seen the band defy the mandates and trends of mainstream pop culture. The duo have crisscrossed the country performing hundreds of shows a year, ventured into branding their own beef jerky and moonshine, collaborated with some of the music business’s most prolific artists, outshined in the face of record industry roadblocks, earned a fiercely loyal fan following, and embrace the unconventional.
Long before people figured out country and rap had a lot in common, Moonshine Bandits were gaining critical acclaim from outlets including Rolling Stone, MTV, AOL, THE BOOT, YAHOO and their 2011 hit single “My Kind Of Country” peaked at #1 on CMT Music. The band continued to break barriers with their 2015 album BLACKED OUT which simultaneously landed on Billboard’s Top 10 Rap Albums (#10) and Top 15 Country Albums (#13). Moonshine Bandits average 2.3 million monthly streams across all platforms and to date have garnered over 260 million video views.
