Tobias Forge, the man behind Ghost, just spilled the spectral beans in a new interview, revealing that the band’s recent extravaganza at the illustrious Forum in Los Angeles was no ordinary gig – it was all part of an otherworldly film project they’re conjuring up.
The second night of their soiree was an absolute game-changer. You see, dear audience, the crowd was stripped of their precious cellphones, making it a night of pure unfiltered rock ‘n’ roll. According to Forge, this digital detox, combined with a production that’s bigger than your wildest spectral dreams, made those shows extra magical.
“I started putting it together, and I thought, ‘Oh my, I’m going to keel over, there’s so much to think about.’ But then I was like, ‘Nah, forget about it,'” Forge casually quipped about the monumental production process.
As for the ban on mobile phones, Forge couldn’t be happier. “I haven’t seen a crowd interact like that since I was in my garage band days. These were the best Ghost shows ever, mainly because I didn’t have to stare at those darn mobile screens.”
Forge let the ectoplasmic cat out of the bag, revealing that the entire event was captured on film. “We were essentially shooting a full-fledged movie, with two nights of adoring fans as our unwitting extras,” he grinned. The result? A cinematic marvel with a concert twist – the best of both realms, just like having your cake and summoning the spirits too.
When asked if it’s similar to Metallica’s “Through The Never,” Forge slyly responded, “Well, it’s a concert, but with a paranormal twist,” leaving us all thirsting for more.
Stay tuned, because the full interview with Metal Hammer drops this Thursday, and it’s bound to be more spine-tingling than a séance with a rock ‘n’ roll twist!
