The wildfires which have ravaged Los Angeles County are difficult to comprehend. More than 40,000 acres have been burned, over 12,000 structures destroyed, 150,000 residents have been displaced and at least 25 people have tragically lost their lives.
These statistics – while staggering – only start to put into perspective how destructive these wildfires have been for Southern California. Everyone in the greater Los Angeles area has been affected, and it will take years for many of them to fully recover.
In times of tragedy, humankind rallies. The silver lining of this disaster has been the stories of support and care from those within the LA community and beyond.
