NOAH Weiland Covers Stone Temple Pilots “Sex Type Thing”

Noah Weiland has released his rendition of the Stone Temple Pilots classic “Sex Type Thing” online. Noah Weiland is the son of Scott Weiland, the legendary lead singer of Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver.

Noah’s version of “Sex Type Thing” is accompanied by a music video featuring a grainy, VHS-style aesthetic. The video showcases Weiland interacting with a Chucky doll, with captions revealing a compelling narrative that connects to his late father. “There was so much I wanted to tell him,” reads one caption, “like how much has changed on Earth without him.”

Growing up in Southern California as the son of an iconic rock ‘n’ roll frontman had a profound impact on Noah’s musical journey. He began his career in early 2020 by forming the rock band Suspect208 with drummer London Hudson (son of Slash) and bassist Tye Trujillo (son of Metallica’s Rob Trujillo).

Following the band’s breakup, Noah began releasing solo music in 2023 with the single “Yesterday,” attracting attention from major outlets like Rolling Stone, Consequence of Sound, Loudwire, and iHeart Radio. Noah is currently finalizing his debut album, which is set for release later this year.
