Mike D is stepping back into the spotlight in a major way. After going viral for a surprise performance of So Whatcha Want alongside his sons’ band Very Nice Person, the Beastie Boys legend has announced a run of intimate shows across Los Angeles, New York, and Paris.
The buzz started when Mike D joined Very Nice Person on stage at the Ojai Valley Women’s Club, performing the classic Beastie Boys track to a packed crowd. Clips from the performance quickly spread online, with fans celebrating the unexpected moment and the generational crossover between Mike D and his sons, Skyler and Davis Diamond alongside Milo Ruscha, Ed Ruscha, and Will Graefe. The appearance followed an earlier, smaller performance at Malibu surf shop Brothers Marshall, but it was the Ojai show that truly caught fire.
Now, that momentum is turning into something bigger. Mike D has confirmed a series of upcoming shows, including dates in Los Angeles and Brooklyn before heading overseas for a festival appearance in Paris. He is also set to headline the Beyond The Streets festival on June 20, sharing the bill with acts like Pussy Riot and Circle Jerks.
The newly announced run includes:
- May 7 – Los Angeles, CA – Plaza Night Club & Dance Hall
- May 10 – Pasadena, CA – Sid The Cat Auditorium
- May 22 – Brooklyn, NY – Xanadu Roller Arts
- May 23 – Brooklyn, NY – Xanadu Roller Arts
- June 20 – Paris, FR – Beyond The Streets Festival
Beyond the live shows, there are growing signs that something new is on the horizon. Mike D has been teasing fresh material on social media and recently launched a new website tied to the name “Mike D 5D,” hinting at a potential new project or album rollout. While details remain limited, the timing suggests that these performances could be part of a larger creative return.
