After a physical altercation broke out between two members of Crazy Town, the rap-rock group also known as Crazy Town X, following a performance on Sunday (April 23), (hed)p.e. decided to drop the group from their current “Nu-Metal Madness 2” U.S. tour. It was caught on camera and afterwards went viral.
(hed)p.e. declares in a video statement that they don’t “support the shit that’s gone on.” Without Crazy Town, they will carry on with the tour’s scheduled dates.
Check out the video below.
The argument within Crazy Town broke out after the band’s stalwart Shifty Shellshock (Seth Binzer) missed their performance on Sunday and arrived later, leaving Crazy Town co-vocalist Bobby Reeves to take the stage alone in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
(hed)p.e. Kick Crazy Town Off Tour
In (hed)p.e.’s statement Tuesday (April 25), (hed)p.e. vocalist Jared Gomes says (hed)p.e. “had to kick Crazy Town off the tour. We’re not saints, by any means, and (hed)p.e. has done some crazy shit. I’m not passing judgement on Crazy Town or Seth or anything like that. But whatever has gone on with us, we’ve always tried to come with a good rock show.”
He adds, “Because of what’s going on with Seth and Crazy Town right now — Seth needs help. We can’t just sit by while he’s on the road, battling demons to the death. He needs to get off the road and deal with that shit. You’ve seen the video. If it was just a fistfight between band members, maybe I could be the first one to mediate that shit. But this is a lot deeper.”
Reeves looks to have a black eye in fan-filmed footage of the off-stage incident between Binzer and Reeves, as seen on TikTok. Because Shifty didn’t come up until after the show had ended, the singer of the rock band Crazytown was attacked by band member Shifty Shellshock, according to a video posted by @jasonkeaton0813 on TikTok.
On YouTube, several videos showing various aspects of the altercation surfaced. According to ThePRP, Binzer has exhibited unpredictable conduct onstage at past performances this year when he has played. He destroyed a speaker column in Agoura Hills, California, in January. I personally had to be at the aforementionedshow at canyon club and can say it was sad to see the beginning of this new yet old fall off the wagon.
Fight in the Town Between Band Members
Binzer apparently didn’t get to the venue in Myrtle Beach until the end of the show on Sunday. Reeves tried his best to front the show without him, although occasionally seeming to have trouble doing so. with one point, he told the audience, “I’m so mad at fucking Shifty right now — I’m trying hard.”
According to summaries found elsewhere and here, a dispute over money between Crazy Town and the other party led to a physical brawl that included fists and expletives.
In the past, Epic (Bret Mazur), a co-vocalist with Binzer, was a member of Crazy Town. With their 1999 debut, The Gift of Game, the trio exploded into the public eye. Due to the success of its single “Butterfly,” it was certified platinum. Darkhorse followed in 2002.
