Sad news for metal fans heading to Sacramento for the Aftershock Festival. Unfortunately, it looks like the Pantera celebration will have to wait a bit longer, as the band just dropped a very un-metal bombshell – they won’t be hitting the stage at the 2023 music weekend in Sacramento.
Stating “circumstances beyond our control,” they’ve promised to make it up to us in 2024 at Aftershock!
Pantera didn’t spill the beans on why they can’t make it to Aftershock, but here’s the silver lining: they’re still headed to Louder Than Life this weekend! So, it’s not all bad news for Pantera fans.
Now, what’s the plan for Aftershock without Pantera? Well, if you check out the festival website, you’ll notice that Pantera’s name has vanished from the lineup. They were supposed to play on Saturday, October 7, right under Korn. But now, Korn ‘s still the headliner, with 311 and Turnstile joining them in the spotlight.
As for Thursday, October 5, Avenged Sevenfold is still leading the charge, but now they’ve got Incubus and The Cult up there with them (who were supposed to be lower on the bill). And guess what? Stone Temple Pilots have stepped in to fill the gap on Thursday, though they’re not quite at the top.
Pantera might be MIA at Aftershock this year, but the festival is still bringing the heat with an epic lineup.
