Paramore are serving as the Record Store Day Ambassadors for 2024, and they have a few special releases lined up for the occasion. Their rendition of “Burning Down the House” from the upcoming Talking Heads tribute album will be pressed onto side B of a 12″ vinyl, while side A will feature a fresh cover of their song “Hard Times” by David Byrne. This release, described by RSD as “an extremely limited run exclusive for Record Store Day in 2024,” is sure to be a hit with fans.
Byrne took to Twitter to express his excitement about Paramore’s contribution, stating, “Paramore recorded an amazing version of ‘Burning Down The House’ for a Stop Making Sense covers album that A24 is doing in connection with the re-release of the film.” He added, “That song is out now. The band told me that their song ‘Hard Times’ was inspired by Talking Heads, so I learned it and recorded my version of their great song with a horn section. This was fun!” The 12″ vinyl will be available on Record Store Day 2024, with more information and a list of participating stores at http://recordstoreday.com.
Additionally, Paramore’s 2023 release, described as “almost a remix album,” featuring remixes and reworkings of all 10 tracks on This Is Why, will also receive its first physical release for RSD. It will be available on 2LP Ruby + Bone vinyl (which includes the standard album) and single black LP.
Record Store Day falls on Saturday, April 20, and you can find all the exclusive releases on the official Record Store Day website.
