After teasing their new song in mid-February, Set It Off has finally released the new single, “Fake Ass Friends.” This also marks a new release for the band in their journey as an independent artist, following up various 2023 singles including the likes of “Parasite” and “Evil People.“
In the energetic, modern-rock anthem, Set It Off tackle a breakup, and it’s not a romantic one. Examining friendships that turn out to be less than ideal, the trio fiercely dives into the pain of losing a close confidant after betrayal. And yes—that broken trust hurts like hell. The track’s fervor thrillingly highlights the dark and twisted tales of friendships gone wrong. Check out the new Set It Off single below.
In tandem with the song’s release, the band also released a “Fake Ass Friends” merch linefeaturing snake graphics on T-shirts, hoodies, and more.
Drummer Maxx Danziger shared in an Instagram caption, “This is one of my favorite SIO songs of all time so I hope you like it. We’ll be playing this one on the Deathless Tour…”
