The Pretty Reckless Recruit Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl and Pat Smear for New Version of “About You”

Taylor Momsen and company have teamed up with two rock heavyweights for a reworked version of their song “About You,” featuring Foo Fighters members Dave Grohl and Pat Smear.

The Pretty Reckless have given their song “About You” a little extra star power, enlisting Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl and guitarist Pat Smear for a newly released bonus version of the track.

Originally featured on the band’s fifth studio album, Dear God, which arrived in June 2026, the updated recording brings together three familiar faces from modern rock for a collaboration that adds some Foo Fighters firepower to the Pretty Reckless catalog.

Grohl takes on multiple roles in the recording, contributing drums, guitar and backing vocals. The Foo Fighters frontman also trades call-and-response vocals with Pretty Reckless singer Taylor Momsen, adding another dimension to the song’s vocal arrangement. Meanwhile, longtime Foo Fighters guitarist Pat Smear lends his unmistakable guitar work to the track, further expanding its sonic landscape.

The collaboration brings together musicians with deep roots in rock music. Grohl, who first rose to prominence behind the drum kit for Nirvana before forming Foo Fighters, has spent decades establishing himself as one of the genre’s most recognizable figures. Smear, whose career stretches back to influential Los Angeles punk band the Germs and his time performing with Nirvana, has likewise played an integral role in Foo Fighters’ sound.

For Momsen and The Pretty Reckless, the guest appearances add another notable chapter to a career that has seen the band evolve from its hard rock beginnings into one of the genre’s most recognizable contemporary acts.

The new version of “About You” arrives just months after the release of Dear God, giving fans another reason to revisit the band’s fifth studio effort while offering a rare opportunity to hear Grohl and Smear alongside Momsen on the same recording.
